About Spinach Powder

Product Info:
Spinach Powder (Spinacia Oleracea) is created by grinding dried spinach leaves. It is a fine, dull green powder that is 60 mesh in size. Spinach Powder has a mild spinach flavor.

Suggested Use:
Spinach Powder is wonderful for adding color and flavor to fresh pasta, noodle and bread doughs. It can also be used in yeast breads, quick breads or muffins. Combine with herbs or sun-dried tomatoes for a light, savory flavor.

Ingredients:
Spinach, Silicon Dioxide.

Basic Prep:
Mix spinach powder into flour before adding wet ingredients; about 1/2 ounce for every pound of flour.

    Powdered Spinach

Posted by Derek on 3rd Apr 2024

If you like the taste of spinach, you'll like this powder. I like spinach so I'm very happy with it. My spinach arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The powder mixes very easily with water--even cold water. I've experimented and found that my favorite way to consume it is to mix one tablespoon (which is about equivalent to one cup of fresh spinach) into 12 ounces of cold water, though I also mix it into scrambled eggs with a little water, and I've used it for a soup base. Those are tasty, too. Now, for the product to mix so easily, it must be very fine. I'd say it's even slightly finer than talcum powder, so merely opening the bag causes a little to escape into the air. Just be ready for that. I bought five pounds, so at one or two tablespoons per day, I expect it to last a long time. However, I plan to reorder once my current supply runs low.
