About Black Pepper, Coarse

Product Info:
Black Pepper (Piper Nigrum) is made from undersized Green Peppercorns. The Green Peppercorns, which are the unripe fruit from the Piper Nigrum tree, are picked in an immature state and then dried. Black Peppercorns are rather mild, but they are intensely fragrant. Pepper is one of the most common spices in the world. Its popularity is due not only to its versatility as a cooking spice, but also because of its healing properties. Pepper is believed to help cure colds, sore throats and to be helpful with respiratory problems.  Our Coarse Ground Black Pepper is a 12 mesh.

Suggested Use:
Pepper gives off a warm and spicy flavor and it adds a depth to any dish. Pepper combines well with just about any spice. Coarse Peppercorns are wonderful sprinkled on top of salads, pasta, cooked vegetables or sauces. Coarse Peppercorns are wonderful rubbed into meat before grilling.

Ingredients:
Black Malabar Peppercorns.

Country of Origin:  India

Basic Prep:
Pepper is best when ground fresh just before use. Pepper loses its flavor during long-cooking periods, so add at the end.
