About Sugar, Brown Rock Crystals
Sugar that is crystallized on a stick with brown color. It is also known as "rock candy" Generally the process of creating rock sugar is done on a stick or string. These surfaces provide a space for seed crystals to start, encouraging the rest of the rock sugar to adhere to these crystals and forming clusters. People have been making rock sugar for centuries. Sugar was once relatively rare and quite expensive, so candy made from pure sugar was a desirable sweet treat. Rock sugar can be flavored and colored with an assortment of ingredients to make it more interesting, and it is a popular sweet in many regions of the world. Crystals are approcimately 1/4" in size.
Rock Sugar can be used for candy, in desserts and to sweeten drinks. Can also be used to add a sweet taste to your main dish.
