About Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
Monosodium Glutamate, popularly known as MSG, is a sodium salt of the naturally-occurring amino acid called glutamic acid. It is used as a preservative and flavor enhancer, typically for processed foods like bouillon, sauces, potatos chips and seasoning mixes. It is also a common ingredient in Chinese dishes to provide an accent to the meats in particular.
